New Research Grants for Bishop’s University Researchers

The following researchers have received research funding from the Fonds de recherche du Québec:

Dr. Vicki Chartrand in the Department of Sociology has been awarded an FRQSC New Academics Grant for a project entitled “Femmes autochtones disparues et assassinées et stratégies pour le changement: Leçons tirées des familles et des communautés” ($43,140). This is clearly a highly topical issue of major importance these days in Quebec and Canada.

Dr. Lorne Nelson and Dr. Jason Rowe in the Physics Department are members of the “Centre de recherche en astrophysique du Québec” which was awarded a grant of $2,598,000 for the next seven years from the FRQNT Strategic Clusters Program.

Dr. Sarah-Myriam Martin-Brûlé in the Department of International Studies and Politics and colleague researchers from McGill and Université de Montréal have received funding from the FRQSC Team Support Program for a project entitled “La transformation des institutions chargées de la sécurité à l’échelle internationale” ($324,212).
