GSE 521B01 – The Exceptional Learner
This course in special education will examine the characteristics of learners with diverse special needs, including the psychological, medical and sociological aspects of the various exceptionalities and the various ways in which they are educated. The content of this course will be of relevance to administrators and regular classroom teachers as well as to special educators. Participants in this course will critically examine the many approaches to facilitating learning for individuals with learning disabilities and other exceptionalities.
This course could be a Specialization course in the Educational Leadership or Curriculum Studies and an elective in the three concentrations.
GSE 560B01- Selected Topics in Literacy
This course allows students to examine research related to current issues in literacy learning and teaching. Specific topics vary from year to year to take advantage of the special expertise of the faculty.
This course is a Specialization course in the concentration in Curriculum Studies or an elective in the concentrations in Educational Leadership and Art Education.
GSE 571B01 – Principles of Educational Leadership
This course, designed for teachers and administrators interested in becoming effective leaders, is an introduction to the study of educational leadership. Participants in this course will be introduced to the theory and research literature on issues of leadership in general and school leadership in particular. Students will explore topics such as school based management, invitational leadership, flexible leadership, professional collaboration and individual initiative.
This course is a required course in the Educational Leadership concentration and an elective in the Curriculum Studies and Art Education concentrations.

- A component of all courses will be delivered on-line.
- All courses will be held on the Bishop’s campus.

(Students are allowed to drop a registered course with refund of tuition fees.)
Withdraw with Permission Deadline: Thursday, July 16, 2009
(The transcript will indicate (WP) that the student withdrew. Tuition fees are not refunded.)

Quebec Resident Students: 1 course (3 credits): $ 203.85
2 courses (6 credits): $ 392.70
Out-of-Province Students: 1 course (3 credits): $ 554.88
2 courses (6 credits): $1094.76
All students must pay upon registration. Application fee is $55.00 (for new students or students who have not been taking courses for the last 12 months).
