At the undergraduate level, the School of Education offers a two-step programme leading to initial teacher certification in either elementary education or secondary education.
Step One involves obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies if you are intending to become an elementary school teacher. If you are intending to become a secondary school teacher, step one involves obtaining a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree with a Minor in Education.
Step Two involves obtaining a Bachelor of Education degree. Admission to Stage One does not guarantee admission to Stage Two.
