Game Stats

MONTREAL – A career-high 333 yards passing by Bishop’s Gaiters quarterback Jesse Andrews (Pickering, Ont.) went for nought as the Gaiters (0-1) dropped a 30-15 decision to the Concordia Stingers (1-0) in Quebec University Football League action tonight in Montreal. Andrews completed 20 of 34 passes, for 333 yards and a touchdown, his first 300-yard game.

The No. 10-ranked Gaiters outgained the ninth-ranked Stingers by 390 yards to 355 in the game, and recorded 24 first downs to Concordia’s 20. However, an uncharacteristic six turnovers proved to be the Gaiters’ undoing. The Stingers took advantage of the short field and turned three first-half fumbles into 17 points, as they took a 25-15 lead at halftime. (Full release)
