LENNOXVILLE – Jamall Lee, James Yurichuk and Kyle Jones from the Bishop's Gaiters football team have all been selected to participate in the 2009 Canadian Football League (CFL) Evaluation Camp, to be held this weekend in Toronto.

Lee, a 6'1" 225 lb. fourth-year running back, set a new QUFL record with 4,296 career rushing yards, the fourth-highest total in CIS history. The Port Coquitlam, B.C. native also set a QUFL record with 182 rushing attempts this season, and recorded the second-highest single-season rushing total (1202 yards) in QUFL history. Lee holds QUFL career records for rushing yards (4,296), rushing touchdowns (35) and all-purpose yards (4,612).

Yurichuk, a 6'4" 233 lb. fourth-year linebacker, finished third in the CIS with 59.5 tackles (50 solo, 19 assisted) this season. Yurichuk, originally from Brampton, Ontario, led the Gaiters in tackles on four occasions, and is now second on the Gaiters' all-time tackle list with 164.0. This season, he recorded 5.5 tackles for loss, as well as 0.5 sacks and had two fumble recoveries and a knockdown.

Jones, a 6'2" 210 lb. fourth-year linebacker, finished sixth in the QUFL with 42.5 tackles (33 solo, 19 assisted) this season. One of the Gaiters' defensive captains, he was fourth in the QUFL with three interceptions, and sixth in the league with 5.5 sacks. The Mississauga native was named the QUFL Defensive Player of the Week after recording 4.5 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception in a 33-25 win against Concordia on October 18. He has also handled the Gaiters' punting duties for most of the past four seasons, averaging 32.5 yards on 254 attempts.

This marks the third consecutive season that the Gaiters have sent at least one player to the Evaluation Camp, following wide receiver Keith Godding last year and defensive lineman/long snapper Dan McCullough in 2007. This is the first year the Gaiters have had multiple representatives at the camp since 2001, when Andrew Carter and William Wright attended.

Lee, Yurichuk and Jones will look to join the more than 20 Gaiters who have gone on to play in the CFL, including Larry Smith, Wally Zatylny, Tom Europe, as well as current Gaiters' Head Coach Leroy Blugh. There are currently three former Gaiters currently active in the CFL: Matt Robichaud, the long-snapper for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, while McCullough, the long-snapper for the B.C. Lions and Godding is under contract to the Montreal Alouettes.

The Evaluation Camp will take place at the University of Toronto's Varsity Centre on Saturday and Sunday, with full coverage provided on the CFL's website at www.cfl.ca.
