Jamall Lee moves up on CFL's top prospect list
November 10, 2008 LENNOXVILLE – Jamall Lee (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) of the Bishop's Gaiters has been named the No. 2-ranked CIS-based draft prospect by the CFL's Amateur Scouting Bureau. The CFL office made the announcement today, its second announcement of the season. Lee was ranked No. 3 in the league's first list, announced last September. Lee, a six-foot-one, 225-pound fourth-year running back, is a unanimous Quebec University Football League all-star for the second straight year, and is the QUFL's all-time leading rusher, with a career total of 4,296 yards in four seasons. He is a two-time CIS rushing champion, having finished this year with 1,202 rushing yards, averaging 6.6 yards per carry. He was named a CIS First-Team All-Canadian last season, and won the 2007 Jeff Russel Trophy as the QUFL's Most Outstanding Player. Lee is the son of former Ottawa Rough Rider, Saskatchewan Roughrider and Hamilton Tiger-Cat Orville Lee, who was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 1988, and is the last Canadian to win the CFL rushing title. Lee is the highest-ranked QUFL player, the only running back to appear on the list, and one of only three offensive "skill position" players to be included in the ranking. The full 15-person list is available on the CFL's website at http://cfl.ca/article/top-prospects-released-rottier-remains-1. The third and final ranking will be released prior to the 2009 CFL Evaluation Camp. -30-
