Jamall Lee named one of CFL's top prospects
September 23, 2008 LENNOXVILLE – Jamall Lee (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) of the Bishop's Gaiters has been named the No. 3-ranked CIS-based draft prospect by the CFL's Amateur Scouting Bureau. The CFL office made the announcement today, the first time it has produced a list of top draft prospects. Lee, a six-foot-one, 225-pound fourth-year running back, is the Quebec University Football League's (QUFL) all-time leading rusher, with a career total of 3,642 yards, and is second all-time in the league with 32 career touchdowns. He was named a CIS First-Team All-Canadian last season, and won the Jeff Russel Trophy as the QUFL's Most Outstanding Player. Lee is the son of former Ottawa Rough Rider, Saskatchewan Roughrider and Hamilton Tiger-Cat Orville Lee, who was named the CFL's Most Outstanding Rookie in 1988, and is the last Canadian to win the CFL rushing title. Lee is the highest-ranked QUFL player, the only running back to appear on the list, and one of only three non-linemen to be included in the ranking. The full Top Ten list is available on the CFL's website at http://www.cfl.ca/page/cfl_scouting_september_2008. The next ranking will be issued prior to the Vanier Cup, with the final ranking being produced prior to the 2009 CFL Evaluation Camp. The Bishop's Gaiters' next action is this Saturday at 3:30 p.m., as they take on the Sherbrooke Vert & Or at Coulter Field. -30- Top Ten List of CIS Players
