HEADLINES Women's Soccer: Bishop's defeats UQTR in season opener September 7th, 2007 Lennoxville, Que. - The Bishop's Gaiters women's soccer team scored three second-half goals to erase a 1-0 halftime deficit and defeat the UQTR Patriotes 3-2 in their season opener. UQTR's Maude Bellevue opened the scoring midway through the first half with a spectacular goal to give her team a 1-0 lead. The Gaiters tied the game early in the second half on a goal by forward Casey Walsh and then took a 2-1 lead minutes later on a header by Lisa Wagner. The Gaiters lead would increase to 3-1 after a goal by veteran Jennifer Prokosh. A late goal by UQTR's Jessica Lavallee would cut the lead to 3-2 but Bishop's would hold on to earn the win. The Gaiters next game is scheduled for next Friday (Sept. 14) at home to conference powerhouse Montreal. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
