game of the season, Friday at 3:30 p.m. against the Laval Rouge et Or
(8-0-4) on the Wilson Soccer Pitch. On Sunday, the Gaiters will close

McGill, visit Concordia on Friday
MEN
– SUNDAY – Bishop’s 3 @ McGill 34
Men’s Rugby fell 34-3 to the 7-0 McGill Redmen on Sunday afternoon at
Molson Stadium. The Gaiters showed significant improvement since their
first matchup, holding the Redmen scoreless for the first 25 minutes.
However, the Gaiters took a yellow card at that point, and McGill took
advantage of the ten-minute man-advantage to put up 17 points. The score
was 17-3 until the last ten minutes of the game, when the Redmen added
their final 17 points.
UP NEXT:
Men’s
Rugby’s
next action is again in Montréal, this time against the Concordia
Stingers (3-4-0) on Friday at 8 p.m. This game is likely to decide third

Bishop’s winning 17-15.
LACROSSE (5-1, T-1st CUFLA East)
Lacrosse sweeps Carleton &
Queen’s, Western up next as playoffs open
The
Gaiters’ lacrosse team was in action twice last week, notching lopsided
home wins over CUFLA East foes Queen’s and Carleton. On Saturday in
Kingston, the Gaiters trounced the Queen’s Golden Gaels 21-7. On Sunday,
Bishop’s ran their winning streak to four games with a 17-7 romp over
the Carleton Ravens. However, the 38 goals were not enough to overcome
the McGill Redmen, and the Gaiters ended up finishing second in the
tiebreaking formula.
SATURDAY – Queen’s 7 @ Bishop’s 21
On Saturday, Bishop’s came out early and ensured that there would be no
repeat of last week’s overtime dramatics. The Gaiters scored four goals
in the game’s first eight minutes, on their way to a 7-1 first quarter
lead. Another four goals in the second put Bishop’s up 11-1 at halftime.
The pace slowed in the third, as the Gaiters led 14-3, but the
floodgates opened up again in the fourth, as Bishop’s scored seven
goals. Andy Barber and Jimmy Southall each had five goals and three
assists to lead the Gaiters, while Simon Gordon and Mike Dubé added
three each.
SUNDAY – Carleton 7 @ Bishop’s 17
On Sunday, the Gaiters notched their second blowout of the Carleton
Ravens in as many weeks, although this game did not become lopsided
until late. Bishop’s came out strong, taking a 5-0 lead after one
quarter, but allowed Carleton to come part of the way back in the
second, and took a 7-4 lead into halftime. The teams traded one goal
each in the third quarter, before Bishop’s poured it on with a nine-goal
fourth quarter, as they attempted to out-score McGill and win the
first-place tiebreaker. Jimmy Southall (6G, 2A) led the Gaiters with
eight points, while Andy Barber (2G, 4A) added six and Josh Crone netted
four goals.
UP
NEXT:
After finishing second in the CUFLA East, the Gaiters will host the
Western Mustangs (4-5), who finished third in the West Division, in a
