Gaiters' Keith Godding off to CFL Evaluation Camp March 13, 2008
Godding, a 6'0", 190 lb. native of Ajax, Ontario, has amassed a total of
1326 yards on 89 catches in 32 career games with Bishop's. He was named
to the 2007 East-West Bowl, where he caught two catches for 11 yards.
Godding led the Gaiters this season with 26 receptions, picking up a
total of 359 yards and two touchdowns. His high point this season came
on October 13 against Acadia, when he caught five passes for 107 yards.
Godding is currently on a nine-game consecutive pass-catching streak.
He becomes the fourth Gaiter to participate in the CFL's Evaluation
Camp, following in the footsteps of defensive lineman Dan McCullough
(2007), offensive lineman Andrew Carter (2001) and defensive lineman
William Wright (2001).
Godding hopes to join the more than 20 Gaiters who have gone on to play
in the CFL, including Larry Smith, Wally Zatylny, Tom Europe, as well as
current Gaiters' Head Coach Leroy Blugh. The only ex-Gaiter currently
active in the CFL is Matt Robichaud, who is the long-snapper for the
Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The Evaluation Camp will take place at the University of Toronto's
Varsity Centre on Saturday and Sunday, with full coverage provided on
the CFL's website at www.cfl.ca.
