Lady Gaiters tie UQTR
Aboud registers shutout and captures game MVP

Oct. 7, 2006 – The Bishop's Lady Gaiters soccer team ended their 4-game losing streak on Saturday afternoon, battling the visiting UQTR Patriotes to a 0-0 draw.

Goaltender Chelsae Aboud once again put in an impressive performance for the Lady Gaiters, stopping all 9 shots on goal that she faced for her second shutout of the season. Aboud, who was named the Lady Gaiters MVP for the game, has been especially impressive at home this season, stopping 39 of the 47 (.848%) shots that she has faced.

Despite failing to score against the Patriotes, the Lady Gaiters had one of their better offensive showings of the season on Saturday with a season-high 14 shots. Jen Prokosh (5 shots), Stacy Holder (3 shots) and Cheilidh McNeal (3 shots) were the top offensive players for the Lady Gaiters.

Bishop's and UQTR will complete the second half of their home and home series on Monday afternoon when the Lady Gaiters travel to Trois-Rivieres.
