Sept. 14, 2006 – A year after finishing 6-2 before falling to the Concordia Stingers in the QSSF semi-finals, Bill Robson’s men’s rugby squad is cautiously optimistic heading into the 2006 season. “We’ve got a good team,” said the Gaiters coach, “We’re young but we’re talented and we’re coming together and getting better every week.” While McGill and Concordia appear to be the teams to beat in the conference, Robson said he expects his team to compete for the playoffs and possibly the conference title.
“To be honest I’m not sure what to expect.
But after losing to Concordia last year I feel that our team is much
more focused and has a better understanding of what it takes to win in
the postseason. We’ve got a tough schedule but if we can stay healthy we
should have a very good team.” |
