Polar Bears Gain Revenge
McKay scores two hat tricks as Bishop's wins both weekend games

Jan. 30, 2006 – After going 0-2 against the Ayer's Cliff All-Star team before the Christmas break the Bishop's University Polar Bears women's hockey team earned a measure of revenge over the weekend, defeating Ayer's Cliff 8-1 on Friday evening at the W.B. Scott arena.

Michelle McKay's 3 goals led the way for Bishop's while Jess Frappier and Jen Prokosh each scored two goals and Sanya Prokosh added another. Maryse Richard and Paige Marlow split the netminding duties.

On Sunday, the Bears travelled south to Northfield, Vermont to play the Norwich Cadets, a team that already defeated Bishop's earlier this season in Lennoxville. Bishop's came out strong against the Cadets and earned a hard-fought 6-2 win. McKay once again led the way, recording her second hat-trick in as many games, while Sasa Owens, Kayla Dawson and Jen Prokosh each added a goal apiece.

After 12 games, Michelle McKay leads the Polar Bear attack with an impressive 17 goals.

The Bears play their next game at home Saturday night at 7:45 pm.
