Bishop's ski team finishes season in fourth place
Lauren Bobby, Jennifer Bertram and Graham Carr named second all-star team

March 21, 2006 – The fifth and final weekend of competition on the Quebec University ski circuit took place this past Saturday and Sunday at Mont Garceau in St. Donat. Ranked fourth in the province heading into the weekend, Bishop's was unable to overcome Laval for third place while the University of Montreal edged out second-place McGill to capture their seventh provincial championship.

On the women's side, Bishop's struggled in both slalom competitions, finishing in fourth on both Saturday and Sunday. Montreal, meanwhile, was dominant, capturing five of six podium positions to move into first place and end the McGill Martlets six-year reign as women's champs.

On the men's side, Montreal captured the title for a seventh straight season. McGill, Laval and Bishop's finished in second, third and fourth place respectively. Bishop's fourth-place finish was their best since 2001.

On Friday, rookie Lauren Bobby finished in tenth place in the giant slalom while teammates Jennifer Post and Jennifer Bertram finished in 12th and 13th place respectively.

Ian Snowsell was the top Gaiter male on Friday, finishing in 19th place. Patrick Corney and Graham Carr finished in 23rd and 24th place.

On Saturday, Bobby was once again the the top Lady Gaiter, finishing in 9th place. She was joined by teammates Katie Bruce (14th place), Jennifer Bertram (15th) and Jennifer Post (16th).

Graham Carr was the top Gaiter male on Saturday, finishing in 7th place. Teammate Ian Snowsell finished in 14th and became the only Gaiter to complete every race this season.

Lauren Bobby finished the season as the 6th ranked skier in the province, while Jennifer Bertram finished in 8th. Both were named second-team all-stars.

Graham Carr was also named a second-team all-star after finishing his rookie season as the 8th ranked skier in Quebec.
