Productive weekend for Bishop's skiers

Feb. 27, 2006 – Spring break got off to a good start for the Bishop's University ski team, as they enjoyed a highly succesful performance at the Le Relais du Lac Beauport ski resort this past weekend.

On Saturday, the women's team saw four of their skiiers finish in the top thirteen and finished the day in 2nd place, behind only McGill.

Gaiter Athlete of the Week Lauren Bobby led the way for the Lady Gaiters with a fourth-place finish, while teammates Jennifer Bertram (6th place), Alicia Wood (9th) and Jennifer Post (13th) also enjoyed strong performances.

On the men's side, rookie Graham Carr finished in fourth place while teammate Ian Snowsell of Banff finished in 20th.

On Sunday, the Lady Gaiters repeated their success from the day before, with five skiers finishing in the top 12. Alicia Wood (7th), Lauren Bobby (8th), Katie Bruce (10th), Jennifer Post (11th) and Jennifer Bertram (12th) helped Bishop's finish the afternoon in third place, behind McGill and Montreal.

On the men's side, the rookie tandem of Graham Carr and Ian Snowsell once again led the way for the Gaiters, finishing in 5th and 14th place respectively.

The Quebec university ski circuit will conclude on March 17th and 18th at Mount Garceau in Lanaudiere.
