Polar Bears capture Stowe Invitational Tournament

Lennoxville, Mar. 21, 2005 - This past weekend the Bishop's University womens hockey team played in the Stowe Womens Invitational Hockey Tournament in Stowe, Vermont.

Playing a round robin format with the winner taking all against five other teams, the Bears won all their games and captured their second tournament this year.

The scores in the three Saturday games were Bishop's 10 Northshire 1, Stowe Motley Crew 0 Bishop's 8, and Plattsburg, NY 0 Bishop's 8.

After a well deserved night off the Bears were back at it Sunday morning beating a very good NEWT team 2-1. They wraped up the day with a 8-2 win against the Mad Dogs.

Playing her last weekend as a Polar Bear, fourth year goalie Danielle Breau was outstanding posting four wins and shareing the other with Maryse Richard.

She allowed three goals in four games and gave her teammates the confidence to play a wide open game knowing she would bail them out if they made mistakes.

This ends the year for the Polar Bears who finished with a 21-2-2 won lost record. With only four players leaving next year the team looks forward to another good year.
