Concordia's Syrvet & Bishop's Lavoie Named QUFL Players of the Week

Lennoxville, Sept. 27th, 2004 - Scott Syrvet of the Concordia Stingers and the Bishops Gaiters' Jerome Lavoie have been named the Quebec University Football League's Players of the Week.

Lavoie, a 22-year-old defensive back from Beauceville, Quebec had a record-tying three interceptions and three solo tackles in Bishop 's 25-13 win over the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday. The 5-foot-11, 182 - pound second-year business major leads the QUFL with five interceptions in four games.

Syrvet, a 21-year-old quarterback from Kirkland, Quebec threw for two touchdowns to lead Concordia to a 29-10 upset road win over the number-one ranked St. Mary’s Huskies Saturday night. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound second-year marketing major, completed 26 of 49 passes for 297 yards.
