Lady Gaiters second weekend of indoor soccer
Team finishes 0-1-2, allows only 1 goal in entire tournament

The Bishop’s University women’s indoor soccer team had a solid performance playing in a day long tournament at the University de Sherbrooke on Saturday, finishing the weekend with a 0-1-2 record.

“I asked our team to pick up their play on defense, and I feel they accomplished that,” says head coach Michael Richardson of the performance.

Saturday morning the team faced a talented Sherbrooke University squad, and despite some outstanding play in the second half, fell 1-0.

“We were unlucky in this match and conceded a goal near the end of the first half,” says Richardson. “But the second half we played much better, but were unable to score.”

The team then tied both the University of Concordia and the Universite de Laval, both games ending in scoreless ties.

“Against Concordia we came out strong in the first half, and we very well could have came away with a 1-0 victory,” says Richardson. “Against Laval I felt we were a little intimidated in the first half, but played a much better second half.”
