Lady Gaiters split weekend The Lady Gaiters got their second win of the season Saturday afternoon as Marilyne Groulx, a second year Humanities student from Lasalle Quebec scored the lone goal of the game in the 21st minute to give the Lady Gaiters a 1-0 win over UQTR. Goal keeper Melissa Ruiter was stellar in a shutout performance. “A win is a win, and the team came together today,” said head coach Michael Richardson of the performance. “They were hitting long after the play, but our girls responded with solid defensive play, and they got the win.” Sunday it was a much different story, as the team dropped their ninth game of the season in a 6-0 loss to the top ten ranked McGill Martlets. The team now has two games left on the schedule as they will host UQAM Friday October 24 at 7:00 p.m. and Concordia Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m |
