"Finally" While Friday night for the Lady Gaiters was disappointing as the team dropped their ninth game of the season at Sherbrooke 4-1, the team bounced back Sunday afternoon for their first win of the season, beating Sherbrooke at home 5-1. “Finally,” said Lady Gaiters head coach Michael Richardson after the contest. “I just feel so great for these girls, they have been really working hard and they deserve this.” Friday night was a continuation of what has been the story for the team so far this season, as Bishop’s simply could not put the ball past the goalkeeper on numerous opportunities. “I don’t know what is really going on,” said Richardson after Friday’s contest. “I have never seen in all my years of soccer a team have so many things go against them.” Sunday afternoon it was a completely different story, as the team went up early in the affair, and sealed the game in the second half on the strength of three goals from Amanda Dewey-Plante. The team improves to 1-7 on the season and will face Montreal at home this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. |
