Women's rugby names award winners The Bishop’s Lady Gaiters rugby team announced their player’s of the year last night at their awards banquet, and to no one’s surprise Becca King was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. King was instrumental in a key win against Ottawa during the season, scoring the games lone try. The British Columbia native was also named to the All-Conference team at her position of inside centre. The other two Lady Gaiters who made the all-conference team were also recognized, as team captain and fly half Kelly Butler was named best back on the team and flanker Valerie Dessaulles was named best forward. Rounding out the list of award winners was Scrum Half Lindsay Price, as the Calgary, Alberta native was named Rookie of the Year and Montreal’s Stephanie Titman took home the Most Improved Player (Myriam Cozem McNally Award). |
