January 26, 2004 Bishop's Sports Information

The Bishop’s University women’s ice hockey team played two games this past weekend. Friday night at home they hosted the Sherbrooke All-Stars. After falling behind in the first period 2-0, they came roaring back in the second with four goals and with a strong performance in the third period held on for a 5-4 victory. The Polar Bears attack was carried by first year Michelle McKay’s four goals including a goal on a penalty shot. The all important first goal which got the team rolling was scored by second year student Erica Wallbridge. Maryse Richard played the whole game in goal and recorded the win.

Saturday the team played in Middlebury, Vermont against a strong Middlebury Otters team and came out on the losing end, dropping the game by a score of 8-2. Michelle McKay counted both goals for the Polar Bears. The next home game for the team will be this upcoming Friday night at 8:00 p.m.
