Men's Rugby drops ETS It was a chequered match to say the least, as the Bishop’s Gaiters had to battle not only ETS and take a 34-5 game, but the refereeing as well. Penalties and questionable calls made the game much closer than it should have been as the Gaiters first team members were all over the Ecole Technique Superior.
“The score was not indicative of our team’s play,” said
Gaiters head coach Bill Robson. “We still have some things to work on;
still a young team, but the score should not have been this close.”
Leading the way for the Gaiters was Andy Wanka with two converts and two try’s. Wanka, returning from a knee injury that kept him out of the 2002 season, was up to his old tricks for most of the afternoon. “It’s really disappointing when you work hard all week, and even though we won, have so many things go against you,” said Wanka after the match. “But were getting there and we are just focusing on one game at a time.” |
