Golf Report Week Three
Golf Team Report Last weekend the Bishop’s University golf team competed in the final two tournaments of the season. Friday, at the Club de Golf Venise in Deauville, Quebec, the team put together another solid effort in less than ideal conditions. With a brisk wind and cold temperatures playing havoc with scores, the Bishop’s team came through with flying colours. The scores were as follows: Adam Bulow 78, Jeff Strevens 80, Mike Powell 81, Ryan Storrar 82, Erick LaGarde 86, Richard Urano 86 and Brandon Stevens 92. Marie France Graves struggled with the cold and shot 101. These scores moved the team up in the standings going into the last event on Saturday. Saturday found the team in 6th place out of 8 teams, but with the team hosting at their home course Dufferin Heights. Unfortunately the weather was terrible. High winds gusting up to 80 kilometres and hour and temperatures falling below two degrees made for terrible conditions, yet the team and 65 total golfers played on. Bishop’s once again put together a strong showing. The scores were Jeff Strevens 80, Ryan Storrar 80, Mike Powell 80, Erick Lagard 81, Adam Bulow 82, Richard Urano 90 and Brandon Stevens 95. Marie France Graves came through with a strong 96. This strong effort enabled the team to finish fourth overall, only one stroke out of third place. The team also placed four members in the top 15. Jeff Strevens finished seventh, Ryan Storrar ninth; Mike Powell was twelfth and Adam Bulow 14th. On the women’s draw, Marie France Graves finished an impressive 10th overall. |
