Top prospect commits to Bishop's for Fall of 2004
April 1, 2004   Bishop's Sports Information

Nationally top-ten ranked quarterback Kyle Williams from Waterdown High School in Waterdown, Ontario, has officially committed to Bishop’s University for the fall of 2004. With the departure of quarterback Sylvain Desrochers for France and a semi-professional contract, Williams is expected to compete immediately for a starting role on the team.

“We’re very excited to have Kyle committed to Bishop’s for next season,” says Gaiters head coach Tony Addona. “He is an outstanding athlete and has been consistently a champion, Kyle is someone who is ready for the next level. We expect him to be an essential part of the turnaround of Gaiter football.”

Williams stands at 6’1, weighs 205 pounds and was named a second team QB on the www.allCanadianGridiron.com’s rankings of High School quarterbacks. Williams is currently registered as a Social Sciences major with a concentration in Sociology. Last season Williams led Waterdown to the Golden Horseshoe Bowl, and has four City of Hamilton Championships under his belt.

Williams is also a multi-sport athlete, winning a provincial club basketball championship with the Hamilton Wildcats, a National Volleyball Championships with the Bronte Beach Volleyball Club and was named the Midget, Junior and Senior Athlete of the Year at Waterdown High School during his four years.
