Arrival in Canada

Arrival in Canada

All students can access their rooms reserved in Residence on campus on:

Sunday, January 8th from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

By Air

Your first port of entry to Canada will probably be Montreal, which is served by one airport: Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL).

From the Montreal airport to Bishop’s University, you have two modes of transportation available to you – either a shuttle or an inter-city bus:

Aéronavette/Aeroshuttle

Directly from Montreal’s Trudeau airport to the city of Sherbrooke — 2 hour drive

The Aeroshuttle provides customized transportation from the airport to various key points around Sherbrooke. Visit the Aéronavette website for pricing and reservations.

Bus

Inter-city bus from Montreal to Sherbrooke — 2 hour drive

If you arrive at Trudeau airport and you prefer to take the inter-city bus to Sherbrooke, take the 747 shuttle to the Gare d’autocars de Montréal.

1- Montreal airport shuttle 747 (from Trudeau airport to downtown Montreal bus station)

The 747 bus service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, between the Montréal-Trudeau airport and the central bus station (Gare d’autocars de Montréal – Berri-UQAM metro/subway station at 1717 rue Berri Street).

Travel time may vary between 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Cost is $10 (in cash only). Visit the shuttle 747 Website for up-to-date pricing, details, and schedule.

2- Inter-city bus from downtown Montreal Gare d’autocars de Montréal to the city of Sherbrooke

From the Gare d’autocars de Montréal bus station take the Limocar bus to Sherbrooke.

You will arrive at the Vieille Gare de Sherbrooke downtown (see area on Google map).

3- Sherbrooke city transportation to Bishop’s campus

Once you arrive in Sherbrooke at the Vieille Gare de Sherbrooke, you have two options:

  • You can take the city bus #2 from downtown Sherbrooke to Bishop’s campus.
For hours and rates ($3.25 in coins only), view the STS Website (In French only), or PDF schedule for bus #2.
  • Take a taxi to campus (approximately $20.00).
    Taxis de Sherbrooke: 819-562-4717

Arrival on the Bishop’s University Campus

Students arriving on campus on Saturday or Sunday or after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays who have confirmed a room in residence should go to the Security Office located in the Dewhurst Dining Hall building on the Bishop’s campus. A security guard will give you a key to your room so that you may move in that same night.
