International High School Students

International High School Students

You are considered an international high school student for admission purposes if you:

  • are currently completing secondary school at a country outside of Canada or the USA; or you
  • completed completed secondary school at a country outside of Canada or the USA within the last two years and you have not studied elsewhere since completing your secondary school studies

Admission Requirements: General

  • Completed secondary school credential that would permit you access to university in that country. If you are studying at or have graduated from secondary school in a country where secondary school finishes after only 11 years of formal schooling, you may not apply directly to Bishop’s University.  You will need to complete at least one year of study at a college or university before applying to transfer to Bishop’s.
  • Minimum average required varies depending upon curriculum followed; transcripts are reviewed on an individual basis. Contact the Admissions Office (admissions@ubishops.ca) for detailed information on your particular situation.

  • Course Requirements: University-entrance Mathematics

HUMANITIES

  • Course Requirements: None specified

SOCIAL SCIENCES

  • Course Requirements: None specified

NATURAL SCIENCES & MATHEMATICS

  • Course Requirements: University-entrance Mathematics, two university-entrance Sciences (usually Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION – elementary and secondary

  • Course Requirements: None specified

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION – math or science as a teachable

  • Course Requirements: University-entrance Mathematics, two university-entrance Sciences (usually Biology, Chemistry, or Physics)

Required Supporting Documents: All Applicants

  • Proof of English proficiency. All applicants must submit proof of English proficiency.  Consult the English Language Proficiency Requirements document to determine what, if any, supplementary documents you must provide. If your level of English proficiency does not currently meet our minimum requirements, please consider one of the English Language Pathway Programs with which we are a partner.
  • Copy of high school transcript, including mid-term course grades if available
  • Copy of personal identification document(s). Consult the Personal Identification Documents page to determine what document(s) you must provide.

At the request of the Admissions Office additional documentation (letter of motivation, CV, etc.) may be required to complete your application.
