11 New Videos Capture the Bishop’s Experience

Sherbrooke QC - 17 March, 2008

There is so much to say about Bishop’s University, but no one understands life at Bishop’s better than our students. In February Pablo Aravena, a documentary filmmaker, came to visit campus to meet our students, find out how their lives have changed at Bishop’s, and tell their stories.

The result is 11 short films about life at Bishop's, none more than 90 seconds, including music from Team Canada DJs. Pablo's approach was simple too: "Once I heard the students talk about Bishop’s, I decided to record one great quote and try to prove it visually."  A group of students worked closely with Pablo to develop the concepts, choose the students to feature, and ensure student authenticity.

The stories vary, from students who say they learned to respect thinking, to understanding Purple Pride, to the sense of community, to finding out who they really were. You will also see the story of a Philosophy professor who loves music.

The main objective was clear: give prospective students and their families an accurate and honest glimpse inside the Bishop’s experience.  Please view the videos at www.ubishops.ca/multimedia/videos/v-student-doc.html
