Bishop's athletes of the year awards and BLG nomination for Jamall Lee

Athletes of the year: Jamall Lee (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) and Chelsea-Lyn Aboud (Oakville, Ont.) were named the Bishop's University Athletes of the Year at the annual awards gala held last April 6th in Sherbrooke. Also winning major awards were Josh Crone (Cambridge, Ont.) and Jessy Roy (Val d'Or, Que.), who were named Freshmen of the Year. Eddie Pomykala, the Gaiters' outgoing Men's Basketball Head Coach, was awarded the prestigious Ray Almond Award for his contributions to Bishop's Athletics. At the gala, 40 awards were presented across all nine Gaiters sports.

                

 

BLG nominiation: Jamall Lee (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) has been named the 2008 Quebec male nominee for the BLG Awards, awarded annually to the male and female athletes of the year in Canadian Interuniversity Sport. Doug Mitchell, the former CFL Commissioner and current National Co-Chairman of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP made the announcement on April 8th at a press conference in Calgary
