KANDAHAR PHOTO EXHIBIT TOUR TO MAKE STOP AT BISHOP'S
22 February, 2011
Sherbrooke QC, February 22, 2011 – Kandahar Through Afghan Eyes 2010 / Kandahar à travers les yeux de jeunes Afghans 2010, a travelling photo exhibit from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will be shown at Bishop's University, in the Centennial Theatre lobby, from February 22 to March 11, as part of its cross-country tour.
This bilingual exhibit was launched in Kandahar City in May 2010 and consists of 30 photographs, accompanied by a poem or narrative created by 15 male and female students selected from schools throughout Kandahar City. The students visited different parts of the Afghan province, and photographed a wide range of themes of the daily lives of Kandaharis in a manner that has, until now, rarely been seen by those outside the province.
The exhibit marks the final event of the second annual International Development Week at Bishop's, which was primarily held from Jan. 31 – Feb. 3.
The exhibit is free, and the public is welcome to view it in the Centennial Theatre lobby between 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
More information on the exhibit can be found in the Youth Zone of the www.afghanistan.gc.ca website.
