Bishop’s Business Students Advance to NIBS International Finals
SHERBROOKE, QC - 8 February, 2010
Four students from Bishop’s Williams School of Business will represent their University in the final round of the 14th annual Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) academic case competition. The competition will be hosted by the International Business Academy in Kolding, Denmark from March 8 to 13.
To advance to the final round of the case competition, the team of Vicky Schaefer (Williamstown, ON), Andrew Willis (Whitby, ON), Elliott Verreault (Cap-Rouge, QC), and Stefan Lemieux (North Vancouver, BC) beat out several other European, Canadian and American Business Schools.
“We are very proud of the accomplishments of these four students,” said Dr. Steve Harvey, Dean of the Williams School of Business. “Thanks to their hard work and the preparation from Bishop’s rigorous business curriculum, students in the Williams School of Business continue to be competitive among the world’s very best.”
The Williams School of Business boasts a long record of success at the NIBS case competition, having qualified for the championship round in each of the 14 years of the competition. Bishop’s has won the championship four times and has placed second four times.
These four students will compete in the finals against nine other Universities for the NIBS Championship, including Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki School of Economics, Dublin Institute of Technology, Tennessee Tech University, Concordia University and KH Leuven of Belgium.
This year's team is coached by Bill Robson, a professor of strategic management in the Williams School of Business.
