As a Canadian student, you will find various types of financial aid available to help you finance your studies.
Government Aid:
The main source of funding for students is government financial aid which can include loans, grants, and bursaries. The federal/provincial governments offer aid program for students based on financial need. Students apply directly on-line to their province or territory of residence.
BU Entrance Scholarships:
No formal application is required for most entrance scholarships. All applications for admission from CEGEP and high school students received by the March 1 deadline are eligible for scholarship consideration.
BU Awards & Bursaries: DEADLINE April 30, 2013
Bishop’s offers awards to returning students each year which vary from $500.00 to $1500.00. Information is given to new students at the time of admission. You must be Canadian or permanent resident, be registered full-time, be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need.
External Scholarships/Awards:
Students may apply to different organizations for scholarships or awards based on various criteria. A multitude of web sites will provide information on these awards.
Bank Loans / Line of Credit:
Most banks offer loan or lines of credit to students. Various rules and regulations apply depending on the institutions. You can compare rates, conditions and flexibility available at these different banks.
