Politics and International Studies

The Department of Politics and International Studies invites applications for a 10-month limited term position in Canadian Politics/Quantitative Methods beginning September 1st, 2013. The successful candidate will teach six 3-credit courses over the fall and winter terms. An ability to teach a course in Canadian Public Administration would be desirable. We are looking to hire someone at a junior Assistant Professor level, and candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political Science or be very close to completion. Psychology

Sessional Position

The School of Education at Bishop’s University is seeking candidates for a 10 month limited term appointment in teacher education at the level of assistant professor for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Our School of Education offers programs in elementary and secondary teacher education and a part-time Master’s of Education. As a school of education in Quebec, we interact with English and French school boards across the province in supporting our students in their practicum experience.

Our School’s teacher education programs promote construction of professional identity and education for sustainability, and aim to graduate teachers with a strong foundation in leadership, equity and critical and reflective stances on educational issues. Sports Studies Program

The Sports Studies Program at Bishop’s University (Sherbrooke, Quebec) invites applications for a ten-month sessional position starting September 1, 2013. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline. The candidate must have the academic expertise to deliver undergraduate courses in either the sociology of sports or in exercise science (including athlete development), preferably both. Since Sports Studies is a multidisciplinary program, it would be desirable if a candidate should also be able to teach in one of the following fields: psychology, sports and facilities management; diet, nutrition and health; human physiology; kinesiology. Experience with curriculum development would also be an asset.
