B.E.S.T. Project Fund
A newly established fund provides valuable assistance to students, while also providing important support to University-wide objectives. The Bishop’s Experiential or Service Term is the premiere experiential learning support at Bishop’s. The funds are awarded to students whom the selection committee believes have the potential for significant achievement and impact once they graduate from Bishop’s.
Who can apply?
- must be a full-time student at Bishop’s University and be endorsed by a Bishop’s faculty member or senior administrator as a sponsor of the project
- must have completed at least one year of full-time studies at Bishop’s University prior to starting the project
- must have a minimum cumulative average of 70%

Experiential Learning Internship Grant Fund (ELIGF)
Experiential learning projects can be submitted for financial support from the Experiential Learning Internships Grant Fund (ELIGF) which provides grants of up to $2000. The experiential learning projects provide credits. Although the funds cannot be used as wages or tuition fees, they can include the cost of equipment, in which case the equipment will remain the property of Bishop's University after the completion of the course. ELIGF competition is held every year in November.
Who can apply?
- must be a full or part-time student at Bishop’s University
- must be registered either in ELP 300 or in an internship or practicum course identified as such in the Bishop’s University Calendar

McConnell Student Opportunity Fund
The McConnell Student Opportunity Fund is an endowment of $250,000 generously provided by the McConnell Family Foundation as part of its contribution to the University’s most recent capital campaign, “Partners in Learning”. The Fund has been generating $12,500 annually in support of student-initiated projects.
Who can apply?
- applications are encouraged from both individuals and formally constituted, or informal, groups.
- must be full or part-time students of Bishop’s University during the academic year.
- must normally have a minimum cumulative average of 65%

Cohen Opportunity Fund
Cohen Opportunity Fund was created by Dian Cohen DCL ’10 for the purpose of supporting experiential learning or other extra-curricular opportunities for students in the Williams School of Business. Each year the fund holds a competition to achieve this purpose. Students can apply for up to $1000 in funding to defray non-salary expenses associated with pursuing a defined extracurricular development activity.
Who can apply?
- Student must be enrolled full time with a minimum 70% average.
- The project must be described, and detailed according to the application form.
- Students must use the award before they graduate.
- Two to three awards are given annually , pending available funds.
- The project must be judged by the committee to be a quality learning opportunity.
