An examination of the early conceptions of human nature that influenced psychology's development. The course is presented in two parts, the first examining the nature of history and the history of science. The second part explores the conception of humanity in ancient texts from Homer, Sophocles, Plato, Aritstotle and Augustine.

Prerequisites: Open to students entering their third year.
