This course introduces pre-service teachers to the multi-dimensional and complex nature of the evaluation process fundamental to the development and tracking of competency. In this course we will explore and construct a conceptual understanding of evaluation strategies that support student learning and how these strategies can be built into daily practice. We will also contruct an understanding of those classroom practices that are required to focus students on expected learning outcomes and determine to what extent these expectations have been met.
