This course introduces students to the structure and processes of conflict and negotiations in organizations. Both formal and informal conflict and negotiation practices at the intrapersonal, interpersonal, intragroup and intergroup levels are examined from theoretical and practical perspectives. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding and dealing with conflict from a "conflict management" viewpoint wherein conflict is viewed as having the potential for positive and negative individual/organizational consequences. A significant portion of the course is devoted to the development of conflict management and negotiation skills.
