Learning Support

We offer assistance to all students who wish to improve their academic learning skills. Issues dealt with include:

  • effective time management
  • the art of taking an exam
  • effective study reading
  • effective learning from lectures
  • managing exam anxiety
  • dealing with procrastination

This assistance is offered in the following formats:

  1. Individual appointments with a counsellor

  2. Workshops that focus on the development of effective study skills and strategies

  3. A small lending library of learning skills resources

  4. A peer tutoring service whereby students may receive assistance with their course work from fellow-students who have already successfully completed the same courses. Because this service is subsidized, students are only required to pay a nominal hourly charge.

Please note:

  • Students wishing to improve their essay writing skills should contact the Writing Centre in Divinity 10 (ext. 2421).
  • Students wishing to improve their ability to handle Mathematics should contact the Math Help Centre in N7.

We offer students with special learning needs (ie. students with mobility, visual, and learning difficulties) a range of support and advocacy services. (Special Needs)
