The student Counselling Office provides a variety of individual & group programs to assist you in your personal development while at Bishop’s to help you complete your academic pursuits.  

Some of the services offered include: personal counselling, learning skills development, peer tutoring and services to student with disabilities.

Kim has worked in the Counselling office for the past 12 years, prior to her 18 years in the Registrar’s Office. Kim is the front-line person for Counselling, Career & Employment & Students with Disabilities. She schedules all appointments for the Counsellors, sets up mid-term exams for Student with Disabilities as well as coordinates the Peer Tutor Program. Please feel free to call or drop by if you need any additional support. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, walking & working in her garden. Kim is also a #1 fan of Johnny Reid (BU Class of 98’).

Carol Dignam has been a Bishop’s employee since 2008. She has been a Counselor, both Career and Personal, for over 20 years, working with students at the High School, CEGEP, and University levels.  She has a Master’s degree in Education in Counseling Psychology, another one in Medical Anthropology, is a member of the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association, and has additional certifications in Integrative Body Psychotherapy & Eye Movement Desensitization Reprogramming. Her approach is mindful, holistic and integrative. She also teaches Mindfulness Meditation to students because it is well-documented to be a very effective approach for reducing stress and anxiety, and for increasing self-awareness.
