Career Exploration Workshop Series
Thinking about your future career plans? This workshop series will help you discover some important factors that influence career choice and engage you in a variety of career-assessments to point you in the right direction.

Resumes, Cover Letters, & References
Wednesday, January 23rd  (1:30 – 3:00 p.m.)
This workshop will explore the different types of résumés that are commonly used in addition to helping you understand the characteristics of effective targeted résumés. We will also practice how to use action oriented statements to demonstrate your key accomplishments and learn how to create personalized and tailored cover letters. Strategies for using your references effectively will also be discussed.

Looking for a Job? Let’s talk strategy!
Friday, February  15th  (1:30 – 3:00 p.m.)
Looking for a job, any job, can be a daunting task.  This workshop will help you identify some of the best strategies to use to help you find a job; whether it is full-time, part-time, or for the summer.  Participants will be given an overview of the services and resources available to students through the Career and Employment Office in addition to other helpful  job search tools to help access the hidden job market.
 
Managing the Transition from School to Work

Do you ever wonder how different things will be once you enter the workplace? Managing the transition from school to work is something every student should explore long before they walk across the stage to graduate. Learn about what employers expect of graduates today and prepare for your career success with greater confidence.

Interview Preparation  
Friday, February 22nd (1:00 – 3:00 p.m.)
There are three stages to an interview:  before, during and after. This workshop will be divided into each of the three stages to make it easier for you to prepare for each one.  Topics will include pre-interview research, appearance, interview types, strategies for answering tough questions, and what to do after the interview.
