Student Alumni Association

The role of the Bishop’s University Student Alumni Association (BUSAA) is to enhance the student experience through: Traditions, Giving, and Networking. Through offering involvement, networking opportunities, and initiatives to give back, the Student Alumni Association, working closely with the Bishop’s University Advancement Office, aim to “Make Life Long Gaiters” of undergraduate students, graduate students, and future Gaiters.

The Bishop’s University Student Alumni Association is comprised of 4 volunteer Director roles as well as a group of General Volunteers.

BUSAA Student-Alumni Engagement Director:

Responsible for working closely with the Alumni Relations team to build connections and facilitate interactions between Alumni and current students with potential involvement in some or all of the following events: Homecoming (Alumni and Friends golf tournament, Top 10 after 10 alumni recognition program, Annual Griffin House Pancake Breakfast, Homecoming Gaiter football game Tailgate, 90’s Reunion Happy Hour),  Building on Your Bishop’s Degree Bootcamp (student professional development workshop), Beyond the Bubble (career orientation and networking event), and Career Day (hosted by the Career Development Office).

BUSAA Student Philanthropy Director:

Responsible for fostering a culture of philanthropy on campus with potential involvement in all or some of the following campaigns: Student Donor Thank You’s, Build a Better Purple (Purple Tag Day, Rubber Ducky Golf Tournament and Grad Class Gift Campaign), Bishop’s Birthday, and Alumni & Friends donor recognition initiatives.

BUSAA Social Media Director:

Responsible for helping support the Bishop’s Alumni Association Social Media accounts through creating content, fostering positive social media interactions and actively growing followers and subscribers.

BUSAA Grad Class Director:

Responsible for helping plan, recruit volunteers and host events for the Class of 2018 Grad Week with potential involvement in some or all of the following events: Grad Send Off (graduating class celebration hosted by the Advancement Office), Grad Receptions (divisional receptions hosted by the Principal) and Grad Formal (off campus dinner hosted by the SRC) as well as Build a Better Purple initiatives including the Rubber Ducky Golf Tournament and the Grad Class Gift Campaign; The BUSAA Grad Class Director will also be responsible for collaborating with volunteer Chapter Leaders of the Alumni Association to plan their Welcome Home events (post-convocation celebratory events for recent grads in designated chapter cities).

General Volunteer:

General Volunteers will be called upon to support the various campaigns, events and initiatives in the BUSAA portfolio. Potential opportunities include but are not limited to supporting the hosting, planning and/or communication for: Homecoming, Build a Better Purple (Purple Tag Day & Rubber Ducky Golf Tournament), Grad Send Off and Convocation.

We’re always looking for students who would like to be involved! Apply anytime throughout the year to be considered for a role on the BUSAA.

We encourage you to apply for one or multiple roles that interest you. Those who apply for a Director position and are unsuccessful will automatically be considered for a General Volunteer position.
