Build a Better Purple 2013

Build a Better PurpleWhat is Build a Better Purple 2013?

Over the past 3 or 4 (or 5…) years, we’ve each left our mark on BU in our own unique way; being involved in clubs, departments or athletics, volunteering in the community, participating in student government, and  of course, raising a toast!

Another powerful way our class can get together to leave a legacy is through the Build a Better Purple 2013 Campaign. It is a proud tradition for the graduating class to raise money for a special project on campus. It’s our chance to give a little purple back to the place that has done so much for us.

We’re asking the Class of 2013 to join us in giving $10 to Build a Better Purple 2013.

Where does the money go?

Money raised goes to the Build a Better Purple Fund.  During the 2013/2014 year, the fund will support students with the ambition and creativity to enhance the Bishop’s community.  Students can submit an application about their proposed project, and our class will vote on which project(s) receive funding.

Proposed projects need to address three points:

  • Impact: how will this project affect the Bishop’s community and generative a sustainable, positive effect?
  • Creative: how imaginative is this project? Does it help address a need in a new way?
  • Realism: how conceivable is the project?

2013-2014 students: keep your eyes peeled in September for further details on how to apply!

During our time on campus, we can attest to this: students at BU are committed to making a difference.  As the class of 2013, we can help future BU students who give their time, energy and talents to projects that make a positive impact on our University, their fellow students, and the Lennoxville community at large.

Why should I give?

  • To help future Gaiters keep this place awesome
  • To become a part of the Class of 2013 legacy at Bishop’s
  • Your experiences at BU are because someone else donated; why not provide the same opportunity to someone else in the future?
  • Because donating to BU is a long standing, proud alumni tradition
  • To give a little purple back to the school that has given you so much over the last few years
  • It’s only $10! For the cost of a few beers, you can make a real difference.
  • You will be voting to support a project you believe in
  • Why not?
