XXth Meeting on representation theory of algebras

On Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th of October 2008, the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada) will host the XXth Meeting on representation theory of algebras.
Among the visitors in Sherbrooke for the event will be Claire Amiot, Diane Castonguay, Osamu Iyama and Steffen Oppermann.

Colloquium of non commutative algebra

COLLOQUIUM OF NON
COMMUTATIVE ALGEBRA

9 - 14 June, 2008

In June 2008, the University of Sherbrooke hosted the Colloquium of non commutative algebra which we co-organised with our French and Argentinian colleagues.

For more information, visit the event's Web site at the following address: http://www.crm.umontreal.ca/Algebra08/index_e.shtml

Colloquium on Module Theory and related subjects

Since 2003, the group organises each winter, together with its collaborators Robert Bédard of the UQAM and Robert Raphael of Concordia University, a Colloquium on Module Theory and Related Topics, which is held alternatively in Concordia University and in the UQAM.

The VIth Colloquium was held at the UQAM on the 15th of February 2008. It consisted of 6 talks. (Consult the program in Word format)

The Vth Colloquium was held at Concordia University on the 18th of April 2007. It consisted of 5 talks.

The IVth Colloquium was held at the UQAM on the 20th of January 2006. It consisted of 7 talks and there were 19 participants.

Each autumn, the team welcomes, alternatively on the campus of the UdeS or on Bishop's, about thirty researchers from different universities, but mainly from the north-east of the United States, from Québec and Ontario, for an intensive two-days meeting for exchanging information.

On the 16th and the 17th of September 2005, the Université de Sherbrooke was the host of the XVIIth meeting.

On the 15th and the 16th of October 2004, Bishop's was the host of the XVIth meeting.

On the 10th and the 11th of October 2003, the Université de Sherbrooke was the host of the XVth meeting.

On the 8th and the 9th of October 2002, Bishop's was the host of the XIVth Meeting.

From time to time, the group takes part in the organisation of more important events. For instance, we have helped organising the Colloquium of non commutative artinian algebra in Luminy (France) in September 2004. We co-organise, on the 9th, 10th and 11th December 2006, a Special Session of Representation Theory at the Winter Meeting of the Canadian Mathematical Scociety.

Each year, the team welcomes, for stays ranging from a few days to a few months, experienced algebraists which work together with the local members while profiting from a favourable research atmosphere, away from the everyday contingencies of their usual working places. Below is a list of some of the specialists which visited the team during the last few years.
