Melanie is taking a postgraduate degree in Social Work at the University of Sherbrooke writing a thesis on democracy and teaching. Melanie writes: “My sociology degree has put me in the advantageous position of possessing the ability to analyze social realities with a certain quality of mind and highly developed critical point of view. It is amazing to see how sociology allows me to go beyond social facts and articulate an intelligible argument which explains a local situation within a global context.”
