Professor Caroline Viens maintains an ongoing research interest in gerontology in collaboration with a research project at the University of Sherbrooke: “La participation sociale des aines: apport a la collective et bien-etre individual.” Caroline attends conferences on Canada – Quebec social policy and continues to cultivate strong community ties with Health and Social Services committees including: The Townshippers Association Steering Committee for the Networking Project funded through Heritage Canada); the Women’s Centre of Lennoxville; Centre Notre-Dame D’ Enfants/Dixville; and Les Fantastiques de Magog. Each of these endeavors is related to her teaching of courses on aging, family, industrial society, women’s studies, and criminology. Caroline also serves as a member of the Bishop’s University Senate and a Vice-President of the Faculty Union. She has taught over 50 courses for the Department since 1997.
