Valerie Gelinas (Class of 1995)

Valerie is a Consultant in Information Technology. She writes: I first worked as a waitress in Banff. …Following what my parents lovingly refer to as, ‘finding myself in the Rockies’, I went back to school to try my hand in the world of Information Technology.  …I am still searching for the elusive dream job that combines wit, creativity, intellect and enough leisure time to read a good book. I have run into various characters along the way that made me want to thank the authors and professors in the Sociology department for giving me an understanding of what contributes to both favourable and unfavourable treatment of people and groups.  Due to the traveling nature of the consulting business I have lived in many US cities, apartments and what feels like airport lobbies for the past 4 years.  When time permits, I take improv classes as well as drawing.”
