Michelle Planche (Class of 1997)

Michelle is President of Paradigm Events in Toronto and teaches Special Events and Meeting Management at George Brown College. She is the founder of the “Art of Fashion” event (now in its 6th year). She writes:  We have raised over $20,000 for kids across Canada and the event continues to grow each year. We now have over 1000 people that attend each year. I started my own event planning firm in the fall of 1997 and have enjoyed over six years of organizing and managing international events around the world.Shortly after graduating I took on the role of President of Bishops Alumni in Toronto which was a rewarding experience and gave me an opportunity to connect with Bishops Alumni and gain further knowledge in the event planning industry. Since 1997 I have been involved in many entrepreneurial ventures including launching my own television show which is currently in production and anticipated to air the fall of 2004. I am currently teaching special events and meeting management at George Brown College part time and how loved the opportunity to inspire students and future business owners. My time at Bishops helped me gain confidence and provide me with the opportunity to face new challenges. I think I use my sociology degree every day in my business life. From event and market research to understanding my clients goals and objectives. I still have a strong network of friends from Bishops and will always look at my experiences at Bishops fondly.  …Gerry, I am sure you continue to inspire students everyday”
