Mike works as a Market Researcher with the Town of Happy Valley - Goose Bay in Labrador. He writes: “The position requires me to conduct research on potential competition to the flight training operations at 5 Wing Goose Bay. This Base is the primary source of income for the majority of residents in this community and its continued viability is of pivotal importance to this region. Additionally, I work to promote the development of sustainable industries to diversify the local economy. In the near future I plan to return to university to take a Master's (and possibly PhD) in International Relations. This past summer I was nominated as Chairperson of the 20th annual Labrador Canoe Regatta. This is a very popular annual summer weekend sporting event in which participant’s race six person voyageur canoes around a 2.2 km course.”
