Serge Bourque (Class of 2002)

Serge is works as a Youth Counselor for addiction services in Campbelltown, New Brunswick. After leaving Bishop’s he completed his Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Moncton, New Brunswick. In 2003 he worked for five months with the Federal Government (Correctional Services of Canada) as a group facilitator and counselor working with sex offenders in group and individual therapy at the Dorchester Penitentiary (Medium security). Serge writes: “It gave me a great opportunity to work with others in various disciplines and it also provided me with the chance to promote mine (sociology and social work).” He also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Moncton`s Social Work department. “I owe a lot to Dr. Lustigman who gently (and sometimes not so gently) guided me towards my goals in life. That goes for all of my professors in the Sociology department and I thank you all.”
