Analyzing the mass distribution of stars in the galactic neighbourhood allows us to derive a mass density function which can then be extended to the Brown Dwarf mass regime. Through the use of various input functions and parameters, Monte Carlo Simulation techniques can then be applied to generate computer models of the local galaxy, and infer the distribution of Brown Dwarfs within those simulated galaxies. Using stellar and sub-stellar evolutionary code to couple evolutionary models to appropriate PHOENIX spectra allows us to create an accurate and detailed model of the local galaxy for simulated telescopes to then analyze.
